The Rise of Screen Time
Take a moment to think back 20 years and reflect on how far technology has come over this time. In the early 2000’s, most of us were excited about the latest Nokia phone which had the snake game on it and could store more than 50 contacts. Or if you were really tech savvy, you might have had a Blackberry. There was no social media, no smart phones….yet.

Why do we need Sleep?
In our modern lifestyle, it has almost become a badge of honour to be sleep deprived and burning the candle at both whether due to overworking, busy social life or parenthood. Posture & Ergonomics
As the technology in our lives continues to advance, most of us find ourselves spending more and more time sitting and for longer periods.
Our desk jobs, study and even our increasing amounts of time on screens (phones, tablets and TV) over the past 10-20 years are now having a significant effect on our overall health and wellbeing because we are becoming more sedentary and not moving our bodies enough on a daily basis.
This increase in sitting and lack of movement has also increased the number of people with poor posture, especially in our children and teenagers.
This has led many health experts to say that the effects of sitting on our health has become a bigger concern than smoking in the developed world.

Glandular Fever and Chiropractic
Glandular Fever is a common viral infection for teenagers and young adults which is often nicknamed the ‘kissing disease’ because it is most often spread via saliva (eg. sharing drink bottles, coughing and yes - kissing). Like a lot of viral infections, the symptoms can include fatigue (often extreme), sore throat and swollen glands, fevers and body aches. We often think of these symptoms as a sign our body is ‘sick’, but these are natural ways your body's immune system fights a viral infection.

Supporting Healthy Teens
Whilst the teenage years (13 to 19) are an exciting time of life, it’s a phase of rapid change physically, emotionally, and socially. As teens transition from childhood to adulthood, (which can extend into the mid-20s for males), they can face unique challenges, both individually and within the family as they seek more independence and connection with their peers.
These challenges can be difficult to talk about, often leading to silence or misunderstanding. But when we understand the natural shifts happening during this stage, we’re better equipped to have meaningful conversations and offer the support teens need to grow into confident, resilient adults.

Understanding the HPO Axis
The HPO axis—short for Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Ovarian axis—is a vital communication system in the body that regulates the female reproductive cycle and plays a major role in mood, energy, fertility, and hormonal balance. This system begins its work during puberty and continues to influence health right through to menopause.
